Barbara J. Edgar Loar, 69, of Prosperity died Sunday March 4, 2018 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown WV.  She was born on April 16, 1948 a daughter of the late Ivan and Elsie Morris Edgar.  She was a 1966 graduate of Wayneburgh Central High School.  Barbara went onto Community school in Pittsburgh where she graduated with a degree in computers.  She worked as a data entry clerk for Superior Valve and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service delivering mail in Prosperity and Amity.  Barbara was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek, PA.  On March 2, 1968 she married Gerald Loar with whom she shared 38 years of marriage before his death on January 19, 2006.

Barbara loved taking care of her dogs, Winston and Booh.  She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, camping at Vacation Land in Sandy Lake and was an avid yard seller.  Barbara was a giver and never expected anything in return she welcomed everyone into her home.

Surviving are one sister Linda Welsh of Prosperity, PA, her nephew Daniel (Justine) Welsh of Millsboro, PA and her niece Stacy (Mike) Edgar of Jefferson, PA.  She is survived by many more nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are one brother Jacob Edgar.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Thursday March 8, 2018 in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, PA where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday March 9, 2018 with the Rev. Virginia Evergreen officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery Glyde, PA.  An online guestbook may be signed at Nichol Funeral Home
