Birgit D. Sims

Birgit D. Sims 70 of Marianna died Saturday May 9, 2026 in UPMC-Greene.   She was born in East Germany on October 27, 1955.  She grew up in Germany, where she graduated high school and then went on to trade school for data entry.   After completing the program she worked for Daimler Benz Mercedes and then various companies throughout her career.  On June 15, 1974 she married Tom F. Sims Jr. Together they have shared 52 years of marriage, traveling and living in many countries with his career in the United States Military.  She enjoyed playing cards, slots, going to the casino, playing on the computer, watching reality TV shows, particularly American Idol and Big Brohter.   She loved to spoil her grandson and great grandsons.  Surviving in addition to her husband Tom. F. Sims Jr., are two sons Derrick U. Sims, Michael R. Sims, a grandson Xander C. Sims and Desiree, two great grandsons Zack and Zeke Sims.
