Catherine Eva McCullough of Marianna passed away peacefully March 30, 2012 with her family at her side. She was born June 23, 1922 on Highland Ridge in West Bethlehem Township, a daughter of Louis E. and Catherine Platts Moore. She was known to all as "Eva" She was a long time member of Highland Brethren Church of Marianna. Eva had been a switchboard operator for Marianna-Scenery Hill Telephone Company for many years and worked as a seamstress for Greenway Manufacturing Company of Waynesburg until her retirement. Eva enjoyed gardening and canning, quilting, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. After retirement she spent a lot of her time babysitting her grandchildren and others. She had a special gift of always making people feel at ease and welcome in her home. Surviving are 4 children Joyce (Joe) Gutman of Hollywood, MD, Gerald (Peggie) McCullough of Loris S.C. Beverly (Jerry) McVay of Washington and Stephanie (Jim) Beck of Washington. 6 grandchildren Joell Ritchey, Shawn Gutman, Erin Gutman, Stephen Iddings, Ashley Adams, and Anthony Iddings, 2 step-grandchildren Lynn House and Janet Paradis, 6 great-grandchildren Connor and Caden Ritchey, Aubrey and Emerson Gutman, Adrionna Iddings, and Evan Adams, 3 step great grandchildren Ashley Palm, Zackery Fallett, and Dylan House. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Eva was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her parents are Allison Moore of Beallsville, Eli G. Moore of Marianna, Samuel Moore of Waynesburg, Walter Moore of Marianna and Margaret Friend of Washington. Two brothers died in infancy. BY the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Highland Brethren Church Cemetery.
