Chad Stephen Smith 34 of Washington died Sunday January 14, 2024. He was born in Savannah Georgia on May 16, 1989. He was a 2008 graduate of Washington High School where he played basketball, baseball, wrestled, and was quarterback of the football team. After high school he went on to play football at Bethany College, where he broke all the school records, until his football journey was put on hold due to concussions. He then transferred to California University of Pennsylvania, now PennWest California. Chad worked in the kitchen at various restaurants in the area, such as Buffalo Wild Wings and most recently Red Robin. He also worked at the Transformers where he was a quality control Tech. He enjoyed poker, football, spending time with his friends, all different types of music, attending festivals with his college buddies, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers fan. Chad was his brothers' #1 fan. They were "thick as thieves" and were always there for each other. Chad had Faith. He is survived by his Father and step-mother Mark and Patti Smith, Mother and step-father Melissa Smith (Glenn Cimino), brothers Gary D. Smith, Greg A. Smith, Brayden (Alejandra) Cimino, paternal grandmother Patricia Smith, maternal grandfather Larry Davis, uncle Dean Davis, and aunt Michele (Tim) Washinski, as well as several cousins and numerous friends. Predeceasing him in death were his uncle Michael "Rocky" Smith, maternal grandmother Donna Davis, and Girlfriend Victoria Peel. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m. and Friday from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington where funeral services will be held on Friday January 19, 2024 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
