Charles R. "Raymie" Cox 89 of Amity died Tuesday July 19, 2011. He was born February 17, 1922 in Greene County a son of the late James B. and Deborah Gump Cox. He attended Greene County school and worked construction for D.F and D.R. Farabee until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Cox proudly served in WWII. On November 7, 1942 he married Margaret Elizabeth Wood who died on March 25, 2011. He is survived by a son Terry Lee (Gloria) cox Sr of Waynesburg, daughter Ann Marie Jenkins of Amity, 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Deceased in addition to his wife of 69 years and parents are a son Gerald Raymond Cox, 7 brothers Arthur W., Eugene D., Paul L., Donald R., James H., Robert E. and John K. Cox, 5 sisters Helen Marie Cox, Frances Cox, Lillian Bedillion, Margaret Shoup, Lucille Fitzwilliams, and 2 great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Friday in the Nichol funeral home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington where funeral services will be held on Saturday July 23, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Ruff Creek.
