Charles Richard Evans, 78, of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016, in the Washington Hospital. He was born on December 26, 1937 in Manhattan, New York, a son of the late Robert and Mary Cohan Evans. He attended school in the Bronx, New York. He retired in 2003 from the Army where he served as a Motorpool Sargeant. He was Catholic by faith. He was married to the late Alice Susan Young Evans, who died April 8, 2014. He enjoyed woodworking, making doll houses, cradles, high chairs and also made birdhouses for everyone in the Brookhaven Estates in Washington, PA. He also loved playing Cribbage every night with his best friend Michael Hancher. He was also a member of Post 175 American Legion. Surviving are four sons, Michael Katomski (Lynda) of Shelton, CT., Stanley Katomski (Maureen) of Yucaipa, CA, Thomas Katomski (Catherine) of Oxford, CT, Richard Evans, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Lynda Boulay (James) of Ansonia, CT., and Laura Jaffer (Ty) of Waterbury, CT, 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews.
