Charlotte Y. McCreanor, 68, of Washington, died Thursday, November 21, 2013. She was born May 19, 1945, the daughter of Charles A. and Josephine Bristor Young, in Washington, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1963 and graduated from Penn Commercial College in August of 1964. She also did Paralegal Home Study Courses later on. She worked for the laws firm of Fergus, Martin and Fergus in Washington, PA for approximately 12 years. She then became a secretary in the United States District Court for The Honorable Gustave Diamond. She then came back to Washington and worked briefly for Attorney Lawrence Zewe and upon his death went back to Pittsburgh and worked for various firms there. She worked the longest at the law firm of Zimmer Kunz. She worked approximately 35 years in the legal field, both as secretary and paralegal. She was a member of the Hickory Women's Club, Cross Creek Grange, Senior Citizen Center at Cross Creek, and Red Hat Society. She served as President of the Women's Club and Master of the Grange. She also volunteered at Hospice of Washington and as a volunteer at the Washington Hospital, where she was Chairman of one of the units for several years. In addition, she helped with the Republican Party of Washington County for several years. On July 23, 1977, she married Richard A. McCreanor of Rea, Pennsylvania, who is deceased. She was baptized as a Presbyterian at the Church in Hickory, PA and serve d as a Deacon for several years. She is survived by a sister Karen Young Nicholls. She was step-mother of five: Margaret, Trudy, Richard, Wendy and Philip McCreanor; step-grandmother of six and step-great grandmother of two. She was also aunt of several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents, is a brother Omar (Jack) Baker. Visitation will be at the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA on Sunday November 24, 2013` from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Private services and interment will be held at the family's convenience.
