Clinton R.V. "Night Flyer" Gurthrie Jr.84 of Amherst, Ohio formerly of Lone Pine died Tuesday February 19 2013 in Oak Hills Nursing center, Ohio He was born July 9, 1928 in Washington, a son of the late Clinton Guthrie Sr. and Alice Stephens Guthrie Ballard. He attended Sowers school. Mr. Guthrie worked for BF Goodrich for over 35 years from where he retired. He was a humorous man who enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed teaching line dancing, and volunteering at the library reading to children. He is survived by three sisters Sarah Jean Wright of Lone Pine, Virginia Berne of Jacksonville, NC, Alice Ballard White of Hamden, Connecticut, five grandchildren, special friends Dave and Missy Widman of Lorain Ohio, as well as many nieces nephews and friends. Deceased in addition to his parents and wife Joan Hlipala Guthrie are a son Clinton John Guthrie and a seven month old daughter Joan Louise Guthrie. Family and friends will be received Sunday February 24, 2013 from 1-3:00p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington PA 15301 where funeral services will be held at 3:00p.m. Private Interment will be held at Lone Pine Cemetery In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oak Hills Nursing Center 3640 Beavercrest Drive, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
