Cynthia R. Poland 58 of Washington died Wednesday December 4, 2012 in the Washington Hospital. She was born on December 4, 1954, a daughter of John and Donna McFarland Kumer. She attended Fort Cherry schools. Cynthia worked as a nurses aide at Hixenbaugh's Personal Care home in Claysville as well as a cook. She was baptized catholic. She enjoyed playing BINGO, camping, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. On May 18, 1984 she married Thomas Poland who died December 25, 2007. She is survived by five children Jennifer Poland of Washington, Amy (Walt) McCartney of Washington, Timothy (Jennifer) Reedy of Donora, Jennifer Reedy (Bill Blankinson) of Washington, Thomesina (Mike) Sonson of Washington, her parents John and Donna Kumer of Hickory, two brothers Ralph Kumer of Washingon, Greg (Sherri) Kumer of Hickory, sister Terri (Rich) McGinis of Washington, 17 grandchildren, a great grandchild, as well as nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband are a daughter Jodi Poland, son-in-law Grover Wilhoft, sister in law Joan Kumer, uncle Jim McFarland, grandmother Veronica McFarland. Family and friends will be received Friday from 10:00 a.m. until noon the time of service in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery, Avella.
