Daniel L. Forney, 92 of Hickory, Pa, formerly of Marianna went to be with the Lord, Wednesday November 2, 2022.  He was born July 31, 1930 in Boalsburg, PA, a son of the late Daniel C. and Ila L. Cummins Forney.  Dan was a 1948 graduate of Hickory Hig School.  He spent his entire life as a building contractor, remodeler, cabinet maker, and handyman.  The first part of his career was with D.C. Forney and Sons, the remaining years he worked as an independent contractor.  Dan loved music and played trumpet in Kinders' Orchestra where he met his future wife, Janice A. Phillips.  They were married on June 29, 1952.  Dan loved the Lord and taught Sunday School for many years.  He also loved to discuss topics relating to prophecy.  Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation were the books of the Bible that he studied much.  Surviving are his children, Gail A. Pearson of Greene County, Gary L. Forney (Pam) of Hickory, and Neil C. Forney (Kelley) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren Jennifer F. Aardsma (Mark) of Champagne Il, Geoffrey L. Forney (Amber) of Vanderbilt, PA, Kurt A. Forney (Melissa) of Denbo, Carrie R. Carlson of Wintersville, NC, and Erika J. Bookhardt of Greene County, 11 great-grandchildren; Nathan, Allison, Keira & Alex Aardsma, Graison & Andrew Forney, Kasi, Mayson, Katlyn, & Matthew Forney, and Sydni Carlson. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his wife  of 57 years, Janice A. Forney who went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2009, and his brother James A.
