Obituary

Delbert Duane Miller 72 of Mt. Morris died Saturday November 14, 2015 in the Donnell House, Washington. He was born in Washington on January 16, 1943. He attended Ellsworth Schools. Mr. Miller was raised by his grandparents Joseph Henry and Katherine Roesella Miller. He worked as a bricklayer for Bill Hickman Masonry, and was also a self-employed mason and farmer. He was a member of the Tri-State Equine Club. He loved his Suffolk horses, Maverick and Spirit. He shared over 53 years of marriage with his wife Wilma Main Miller, whom he married on January 28, 1962. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Richard Lee Miller of Mt. Morris, Timothy Duane Miller of Independence, Va, a brother David Lee Miller of Marianna, two sisters Pamela (Rob) Evans of Wheeling, WV, Patricia Statler of Frisco City, Alabama, step brother James Melvin (Joyce) Statler of Morgantown, WV, step sister Barbara (Tony) Bell of Washington, six grandchildren Brittany (Joey) Cohen of Stanley, NC, Brennan Miller of Virginia Beach, Va, Brooke (Brandon) Atwood of Virginia Beach, Va, Briana Miller of Norfolk, Va, SaJorden Miller of Florida, Shariah Miller of Washington, a great grandson, baby Cohen coming in Dec. 2015, three aunts Norma Frazee of Washington, "Big Sister D" Deliah (Jim) Forney of Washington, Clara Miller of Marianna, as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his grandparents are his mother Marion Elizabeth Statler, daughter Vicky Lynn Miller, Uncle Chuck Miller, Aunt Gerry Phillips, and Uncle Joe Miller. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.
