Dorothy E. Chiera 88 of Brownsville died Wednesday November 12, 2014 in Washington Health Systems. She was born in New Eagle on April 23, 1926 a daughter of the late George and Amelia "Mildred" Jestat Zoni. She attended West Bethlehem High School and was a longtime member of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, Sts Mary & Ann Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family. On September 5, 1942 she married Carl P. Chiera who is deceased. Surviving are three children George C. (Marlyn) Chiera of Washington, John C. (Patty) Chiera of Denbo Heights, Carla (Ray) Forsyth of Centerville, six grandchildren Melanie (Charlie) Hendrix, Brian (Kim) Chiera, Jason Chiera, Troy Chiera, Nicole (Terry) Shaw, RaeLynn Forsyth (Jon), three great grandchildren Chad, Caroline, and Drew, as well as many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is a brother Joseph Zoni. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street Marianna, PA 1545 where transfer prayers will be held on Monday November 17, 2014 at 10:00a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30a.m. in St. Oliver Plunkett Parish Sts. Mary & Ann Roman Catholic Church with Father Paul Grunebach officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna.
