Dorothy Warren Schake Dougherty, 90 of Amity, PA. beloved wife of George J. Dougherty for 45 years, passed away, peacefully surrounded by her family at the Donnell House in Washington, PA, on May 5, 2015. She was born to Albert and Beatrice Warren on January 28, 1925 In Cleethorpes, England. She was a British War bride and married her first husband Robert Schake, an American GI stationed in Cleethorpes, in 1943. He passed away in 1967. She is survived by her husband George, two daughters, Marlene Schake Venneri and Lesley (Jacob) Kribel, two grandchildren Jacob R G Kribel and Beth (Brendan) Farley, and a great granddaughter Rebecca Farley. She is also survived by her sister Bessie Cullum, 3 sister-in-laws, Barbara Porter, Betty Dougherty and Gemma Schake, as well as many nieces and nephews, both in the United States and in England. She loved being with her family and enjoyed fishing, sewing, reading, crossword puzzles and all of the Pittsburgh sports teams. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Albert Miles and Albert Warren and 2 sisters Mary Cherrell and Rose Hickson. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at Saints Mary and Ann Roman Catholic Church Sts. Oliver and Plunkett Parish in Marianna, PA on Saturday May 9th at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Washington County Humane Society or the Saint Joseph Indian School (P.O. Box 326 Chamberlain SD 57326). Dorothy's favorite charities.
