Obituary

Earl G. Gilpin 72 of Fredericktown died Friday March 25 2011 in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born in Marianna on February 2, 1939, a son of the late Harry T. and Wilma F. Meyers Gilpin. He was a 1957 graduate of Bethlehem Joint High School. Mr. Gilpin Worked as a Custodial II at California University until his retirement in 1994. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis with the 50 first Company B in supply and transportation. He was a member of the National American Legion Post # 945. On September 27,1964 he married Mary Ellen Gilpin who survives. Also surviving in addition to his wife of 46 years are 3 children Earl G. Gilpin II and wife Tracey, Sherri L. Gilpin, and David E. Gilpin and wife Dani, a brother Kenneth S. Gilpin, 3 grandchildren Amber Leach, Brittany N. Gilpin, and Tyler E. Gilpin as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are 3 brothers Floyd R., harry J., and Terry Lee Gilpin. Family and friend will be received Monday from 4-8p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 29, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor John Sweany officiating.
