Edith M. Ealy "Edie" 88 of Washington died Saturday August 31, 2013 in Presbyterian Senior Care-Southmont. She was born in Clarksville on February 15, 1925 a daughter of Joseph Miles and Hellen Williams Yocum. She attended Deemston Grade School and was a 1942 graduate of Rogersville High School. She worked at Kmart, Woolworths Department store and route 519 truckstop. Edith was a member of North Ten Mile Baptist Church for over 50 years where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed baking and square-dancing, as well as gardening, her plants, and farm life. On March 20, 1943 she married Paul Richard Ealy who is deceased. Surviving are five children Barry (Norma) Ealy, Bruce (Linda) Ealy, Diane Williams, Brian Ealy, Gary Ealy, five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a great grandson Alec Strike, son-in-law Tim Williams, brother Charles Yocum, sister Sara Grable and step grandson Dennis Mead. At the request of the deceased funeral services will be held privately for family and relatives at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 5, 2013 with Rev. Dr. Gary Schneider officiating in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington. Interment will follow in North Ten Mile Church Cemetery.
