Edith L. Watkins Hanson, 92, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away November 4, 2015. She was born September 12, 1923 in Charleroi, PA. Edith was a registered nurse, having trained at Washington General Hospital in Washington, PA. She married Richard Hanson in 1951 and moved to Chevy Chase, MD where she was a head nurse at Prince George General Hospital. They moved to Punta Gorda when they retired in 1976. Edith was a member of First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda and had been a member of Sweet Adelines in Fort Myers for many years. She is survived by five brothers, Fremont (Sara Jane) Watkins, Donald Watkins, Gerald (Joanne) Watkins, Delbert Watkins all of Pennsylvania and Raymond (Virginia) Watkins of Fort Wayne, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sisters, Phyllis Kinder, Geraldine Bedillion and brother, Clifford Watkins. A memorial service will be held on December 11, 2015 at 7:oop.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, PA 15301.
