Edward Roy Bauer, Jr., 90, of Prince Frederick, MD formerly of Carmichaels, PA died Wednesday April, 4, 2018 in The Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, MD.
He was born November 15, 1927 to the late Edward Roy and Lida Finch Bauer Sr. in Fayette County, PA.
He was a graduate of Jefferson High School. Ed served with the U.S. Air Force from, 1946 to 1948, serving in WW II and in the US Army from 1950 to 1951 serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bauer was retired from the Brockway Glass Company, Brockway PA, where he worked as superintendent for many years.
Ed was married to the late Rosamond (Corky) Horn Bauer, who died March 7, 2010.
He was a member of the Zollarsville Methodist Church and the Marianna American Legion Post # 744 for many years. Ed enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and participating on his dart ball team. He liked to play scratch off and pull tab lottery tickets.
Ed is survived by one son Michael Edward Bauer of Livermore, CA; and two daughters Rebecca Suzanne Shipp of Prince Frederick, MD and Phyllis Ann Woods of Nemacolin, PA. Nine grandchildren; Jennifer Shipp, Katie Davis, Michael Bauer, Brandon Shipp, Heather Helmbright, Leigha Helmbright and Alivia Woods and 2 great grandchildren.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are 2 Sisters Delilah Walton and Amy Floreine Jones and 2 granddaughters; Bethany Anne Pelton and Sarah Elizabeth Bauer.
Family and friends will be received from 6-8 P.M. Friday April 13, 2018 in the Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street Marianna, PA where Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 14, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with the Pastor Edward Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Horn Cemetery, Marianna, PA. Military rites will be accorded by the Marianna American Legion Post # 744. An online guestbook may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com
