"British War Bride"

Eileen J. Ziats, 89 of Marianna died Wednesday May 4, 2016 in Monongahela Valley Hospital.  She was born on April 24, 1927 in Bristol England, a daughter of the late Hannah Jane Buckley.  She was  a British War Bride marrying Ed Ziats on October 26, 1945 in South Wales.  They renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary, before his death on April 6, 1996.  She was a member of Marianna Methodist Church, where she was a choir member.  She enjoyed knitting and loved to watch videos of her great grandson.  She was a member of the overseas war bride club.  She is survived by a son Steve and wife Kathy  Ziats of Marianna, grandson Shane and wife Laura Ziats of Masontown, Granddaughter Stephanie Ziats of Marianna, a great grandson Lucas Maximus Ziats, and a sister-in-law Marcella Gupton of Oregon.  Family and friends will be received Sunday May 8, 2016 from 3-7p.m. in the Nichol Funeral  Home 1728 Main Street Marianna, PA 15345 where funeral services will be held on Monday May 9, 2016 at 11:00a.m. with Pastor Steve Dunlap officiating.  Interment will follow in Sts. Mary and Ann Catholic Cemetery.
