Elaine B. Peterson  78 of Marianna died Monday September 19, 2016 in Transitions Healthcare, Washington. She was born on April 19, 1938 a daughter of the late George and Katherine Boiaroff Peterson. She was a graduate of West Bethlehem High School and then went on to secretarial school.  She worked at the Pentagon, the United States Air Force, NASA Space Shuttle programs including "The Challenger".  She was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Old Believers  Church where she served as secretary. She volunteered at the Marianna Library.  She enjoyed playing BINGO and attending functions throughout Marianna.   She is survived  by an uncle Harry Boiaroff, two aunts Nellie Niverth and Feodora Stoskel, a nephew Randall Tanner and wife Dawn, niece Kimberly Possorek and husband Paul, two great nephews Zachary and Jacob Possorek, and a great niece Brianna Possorek.   Deceased in addition to her parents is her sister Nancy Tanner,  Family and friends will be received in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, PA 15301 on Saturday September 24, 2016 from 10:00a.m. til 12:00p.m. Noon , the time of service.  Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Russian Cemetery.
