Elizabeth Moore, 80 of Marianna died Thursday September 4, 2014 in her home. She was born in Marianna on September 19, 1933 a daughter of Alexander and Irene Collins McBurnie. She was a 1951 graduate of West Bethlehem High School. She was a homemaker who spent some of her early years working for Hazlett's Grocery Store, People's Bank in Marianna, and then JCPenney in Washington. She was a lifelong member of Marianna United Methodist Church, where she was very active with WSCS, choir member , church treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. She was also treasurer for West Bethlehem Alumni reunion Committee. She loved volunteering and helping others. Mrs. Moore was coordinator of Washington County Food Pantry for over twenty five years. On February 5, 1955 she married Eli G. "Bud" Moore, whom she shared over 59 years of marriage. Surviving in addition to her husband are three children Sherie (Walter "Bud") Gossett of Fredericktown, Lily (Dean) Howard of Krypton, KY, Alex G. (Nancy) Moore of Washington, five grandchildren Ray (Leslie) Gossett, Desiree (Justin) Gamel, Ryan (Valerie) Howard, Jeremy (Trish) Howard, Holly Howard, five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are a brother William McBurnie and a sister Violet Boyd. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street Marianna, PA 15345 where funeral services will be held on Monday September 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ray Gossett and Rev. Dr. Gary Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Marianna United Methodist Church, Marianna PA.
