Obituary

Ellen F. Donahoo, 76, of Scenery Hill went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2025.  She was born October 24, 1948 to the late Warner and Ellen Piatt.

Ellen "Sam" was a woman of many talents.  She was a great cook, loved to bake, and make birthday cakes for her grandkids. She made the best homemade cinnamon rolls and ladylock cookies.  She loved to pick berries and make black raspberry jelly.  She also enjoyed sewing and wood-working with her husband Carl.  She loved time with her family and  enjoyed sitting on the porch with her kitties.

Ellen was an animal lover and never met one she did not love.  From her goats to the various wildlife she rescued including baby squirrels, racoons, and even a baby deer she loved them all.  Her special love was her dog Tinker, a 17 year old jack Russell who passed three weeks before her.

On December 14, 1968 she married her husband of 56 years, Carl Donahoo.  She worked alongside him wether it was cutting trees, stacking or splitting woos, doing various home improvements, or working on the saw mill at their home.  She was a hard worker with an unbreakable spirit.  She carried so much love and joy in her that it infected everyone around her.  She was so loved.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two children Melissa Watson of Washington and Daniel (Kathy) Donahoo of Scenery Hill, seven grandchildren; Brittany Moss, Erin Moss, Joey Donahoo, Bailey Watson, Sarah Donahoo, Emma Watson, and Adam Watson, five great-grandchildren Kaylee, Kenzie, Kiersten, Oliver, and Jaxon.

Family and friends will be received in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington on Friday January 24, 2025 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00P.M.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 25, 2025at 11:00a.m. in the North Ten Mile Baptist Church, 322 Ridge Church Road, Amity, PA 15311 with Pastor Wesley Kavanagh officiating.  Interment will follow in North Ten Mile Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to North Ten Mile Baptist Church for mission trips and spreading the word of God.   An online guestbook may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com
