Obituary

Elsie F. Sperrozza 92 of Marianna died Saturday March 29 2014 in the Donnell House Washington. She was born May 26, 1921 in Kilmarnock Ayrshire, Scotland, a daughter of the late James and Margaret Findlay. Mrs. Sperrozza attended Marianna Borough School and graduated from West Bethlehem High School in 1939. She was employed by the United States Postal Service for thirty years, the last six of which she served as Postmaster at Marianna. She retired in 1980. Mrs. Sperrozza was member of the Marianna United Methodist Church where she served as financial secretary and was active in the Women's Society of the church. She was a member of the Mariana Women's Club. She served on the Marianna Library Board. She also belonged to the American Legion Post 744 Auxiliary and NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) On September 16, 1939 she married Charles F. Sperrozza who died February 20, 1949. She will be greatly missed by her "extended family" Tianne, Wally, and Chelsea Stotka and Vince and Eleanor Brunetti and daughters. A brother James Findlay is deceased. She was the last of her immediate family. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2-9p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street Marianna PA 15345 where funeral services will be held on Monday April 1, 2014 at 10:30a.m. with Pastor James Markley officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery Marianna. Memorial donations may be made to Marianna Public Library or Marianna United Methodist Church.
