Ernest "Ike" Briggs

Ernest L. "Ike" Briggs, 75 of Washington died Saturday April11, 2026 in the Donnell House, Washington. He was born in Washington on July 16, 1950 a son of the late Howard K. and Etta Louise McFall Briggs. At the age of 9 his family moved to Sturgeon PA where he grew up and graduated from South Fayette High School. After graduation he went to work with his Father at Joy Dog Food. March 12, 1971 he married Sylvia R. "Judy" Wilkinson Briggs with whom he has shared over 55 years of marriage. After marrying he worked at various factories throughout Washington County before his retirement in 2012. Ike loved his dogs and was a 30 plus year member of the PA Field Trial Association. He enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables which he shared with his family and friends. He also enjoyed mowing grass and keeping his yard looking nice. In his younger years he played baseball for Lone pIne School and then South Fayette. He also enjoyed square dancing with his wife. Everyone he met became a friend to him. Ike leaves behind wife, Sylvia "Judy" Briggs, daughters Dolly J. Souffrant (Brian), Susan K. Muller (Lou), siblings; Sarah McCloud (Robert), Donna Ketchel (Wallace), four grandchildren Louis E. Muller, Megan E. Muller (Trystan), Abby R. Souffrant (Luis), Elio A. Souffrant, as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents is a brother Howard K. "Buddy" Briggs.  Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2-4P.M. and 6-8 P.M. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, PA 15301. Burial will be held on Friday April 17, 2026 at 1:30 P.M. in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray PA Please meet at the cemetery if you wish to attend.
