He was born on November 28, 1932 in Scenery Hill, PA to the late Clarence and Sadie Teagarden Rice.  He married Marian Letecki on January 14, 1955 in Oakland, MD.
He worked various jobs during his life with retiring as an owner operator steel hauler from Moore-Flescher in Pittsburgh.
He loved enjoying the "outdoor life".  He could always be found outside cutting grass on his John Deere Tractor and weed wacking as long as he could.  He loved the hunting trips to Wyoming and Colorado and mostly, all the trips he made to his camps in Elk County, PA and Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.  He was one that could always wheel and deal on any type of vehicles, loved flea markets and auctions.  He was always generous man giving his last dollar in his pocket to anyone who needed it.  He always enjoyed playing Bingo with his family.  He could always be found at any Eat & Park Restaurant from Washington County to Elk County, mainly in Monongahela.  He could always be found at one of his other favorite restaurants--Chuck Wagon along Route 40, Brownsville.  You would always see him being chauffeured around the area by his daughter, Jean.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his daughter, Jean (Paul) Myers of Bentleyville, a son Ernest S. Rice of Charleroi; his grandchildren Susan(Kevin) Cotyk of Jeannette and Sandra Rice of Charleroi, Paul-PJ(Tonya) Myers of Bentleyville, Hannah Myers of Parkersburg, WV and Samuel Rice of Venetia, PA and great-grandchildren, Michael and Hunter Cotyk, Lexi Morgan and latest great-grandchild due in December, and a niece, Charlene Friend  from Deep Creek Lake, Maryland and several other nieces and nephews.
