Evelyn V. Walters Hart 96 of Washington died Wednesday June 3, 2015 in her home. She was born on September 21, 1918 in Woodsfield Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Mary Mobley Walters. The family moved to Washington PA in 1928. She went to Manifold GraDE SCHOOL AND GRADUATED FROM Trinity High School in 1936. She then went on to Pen Commercial College where she graduated in 1938. Evelyn worked at Murphy Store on weekends and evenings during high school and going to Penn Commercial. She first worked at the Washington Chamber of Commerce as Secretary to R.C. Provost. She retired from The Washington Hospital in 1981 after working there for eleven years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Evangelical Church for over 75 years, where she was a member of WELCA of Bethlehem, served as treasurer, taught several Catechism classes and was an adult Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the National Duncan Glass Society. She married William J. Hart on March 11, 1939. She is survived by three children Judy Hart Osborne (E. Dale "Ozzie" Osborne), James D. Hart (Regina Reeves Hart), Debra Kay Hart, four grandchildren Jeffrey Osborne, Kristena Hart, Jill Osborne Murphy (Buster), Doug Osborne (Shelly), four great grandchildren Madison Osborne, Mackenzie Osborne, Brendon Dayton, Brittany Dayton( Harry Dayton) as well as many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband are a sister Dorothy Willison, and two brothers Red Walters and Arthur Walters. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301. Additional Visitation will be held From 10:00-11:00a.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Evangelical Church with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Peter D. Asplin officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Evangelical Church Building Fund 21 Church Rd. Scenery Hill, PA 15360 or to a charity of one's choice.
