Floyd English 91 of Marianna died Tuesday January 25, 2011 in his home. He was born in Byesville Ohio on October 20, 1919, a son of the late Earl and Lucille Foley English. He spent most of his life in Marianna working as a coal miner. He first entered the mine with his brother at the age of 15 and continued working there for 47 years until his retirement from Bethlehem Mines #58 of Marianna in 1981 On October 17, 1940 in Cumberland Maryland he married Mildred Shook English who died on March 17, 2003 after 63 years of marriage. Mr. English enjoyed working on cars for friends and neighbors in his spare time. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, the Steelers and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by a son Ronald (Eileen) English of Gilbertsville PA, two daughters Marlene Ottena of Houston, PA, and Candace (John) Temas of Millsboro, PA. a granddaughter Brenna(Donnie) MacFann 5 grandsons Mark and Michael Ottena, Greg and Ronnie English and Kirk Rogozinski, a great granddaughter, Four great grandsons, a step granddaughter and one step great granddaughter, as well as a sister Mildred Zgorzeliski of Hendersonville. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by four brothers Clyde, Richard, Charles and infant brother Edward English as well as two sisters Bertha Mull and Margaret Macik. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m in the Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street Marianna PA where funeral services will be held on Saturday January 29 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery Marianna PA
