Franklin Richard "Rich" Stopka 64 of Washington died Thursday May 12 2011 in the Washington county Health Center. He was born in Washington on June 1, 1946 a son of the late Joseph and Mary Lillie Stopka. He was a 1965 graduate of Bethlehem Center High School. He then joined the United States Army where he served as a diesel mechanic instructor. Mr. Stopka attended North Ten Mile Baptist Church where he had served as Adult Sunday School Superintendent , as an usher, and was a member of the North Ten Mile Veterans Association He is survived by a son, a brother Joseph M. (Elaine) Stopka, 2 nieces Tammie Johnson(Jonathan), Beckie Kaczmark (Todd) a nephew Michael Stopka (Laura), as well as a great niece and 4 great nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, where funeral services will be held on Monday May 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Gary Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna, PA 15345.
