Garnet Alene Nelson, 81, of Marianna died Thursday, September 11, 2014 in her home. She was born on January 30, 1933, a daughter of William and Lula Jenkins Bradshaw. She attended Decatur High School in Decatur, Ohio, graduating in 1951. She worked as a seamstress at Flushing Shirt Manufacturing in Jefferson, PA, before retiring in 2001.Mrs. Nelson was an active member in the United Church of God in Wheeling, WV. She loved volunteer work at Marianna Christian Mission and watching her children and grandchildren wrestle. . She married John A. Nelson on December 9, 1955 with whom she has shared over 58 years of marriage. Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons Rex (Tammy) Nelson, Marianna, Philip (Julie) Nelson, Marianna, Timothy (Janie) Nelson, Washington, David (Amy) Nelson, Marianna and a daughter, Sandra (Teddy) Moss of Marianna, nine grandchildren, Melinda Headlee, Nikki Willison, Amber Samarin, Melinda Schultz, Andrew Nelson, Lindsey Nelson, Ian Nelson, Alexander Fetsko, Diana Fetsko, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are four brothers Lawrence, John, Bill, and Ruben, four sisters Ruth, Edna, Mary, and Elsie, as well as a grandson Philip Nelson. Family and friends will be received Saturday, from 6 - 8 p.m., Sunday, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street, Marianna where funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Blaney Sprowl, officiating. Interment will following in Horn Cemetery, Marianna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the charity of ones choice.
