• George A. McNurlen II 70 of Scenery Hill died Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was born on June 24, 1947 in Washington, a son of the late George A. and Wilma VanVoorhis McNurlen. He graduated from Bentworth High School. He was a retired disabled veteran, serving in the US Army in Vietnam. While in the military, Mr. McNurlen received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal and many other honors. He was a member of the American Legion Washington Post 175.
    He is survived by his daughter Nichole Leah McNurlen of Scenery Hill; a granddaughter, Alexa M. Linhart; three sisters Betty Dolan, Scenery Hill, JoAnn (Stuart) Miller, Washington, and Linda L. Hudak, Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition his parents is a sister Wilma Jean McNurlen.
    Family and friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 on Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15345 where funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the National Cemeteries of the Alleghenies.
