George Pochiba, 90, of Scenery Hill disappeared from his home on June 10th and was found Wednesday, July 9,2014 on a neighboring property. He was born August 24, 1923 in Hendersonville, a son of Steve and Mary Halvonik Pochiba. He began his career as a farmer. Later he became the owner of a trucking company and retired as a self-employed owner and operator in 1995. Mr. Pochiba enjoyed gardening and restoring and showing antique tractors. He was a member of the American Steam Engine Association. Surviving is his wife of 44 yeas Karen Cola Pochiba, and his daughter Neva Mae Neizmak of Washington. Also surviving are two sisters Helen Podish and Mary Furda both of Washington. Deceased are two sisters Barbara Vetrisca and Anna Briggs and two brothers Joseph and Steve Pochiba. The family will receive friends in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington on Monday July 14, 2014 from noon until 1:00p.m the time of service with Pastor Paul Peternel and Pastor Donald Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
