Gretchen Louise Ball, 86, of Scenery Hill, PA, passed away on April 4, 2025, at Transitions Healthcare, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. Born on October 21, 1938, in Cokeburg, daughter of the late Llewellyn and Margaret Morgon. She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and then Penn Commercial. Gretchen had various jobs throughout her lifetime, from a floral shop, to selling Tupperware and taking photos for Olan Mills. Gretchen was a woman who loved fiercely, spoke her mind, and never backed down from what she believed in. She was devoted to her husband, Raymond "Junior" Ball, loving him with all her heart for their over 49 years of marriage before his passing on August 2, 2009. Though she missed him every day, she continued to live with the same passion and determination that defined her. She was the proud and loving mother of Bryan Ball and Brad Ball and the adoring grandmother of Rebecca Ball. Gretchen's faith was a guiding light in her life She was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church. She found comfort and community within the church, where she built deep friendships and lived by her values of kindness and generosity. Gretchen was also known for her love of baking - especially when it came to her beloved pastries. She poured her love into everything she made, just as she did with the people she cherished. Besides cooking and baking, she enjoyed playing BINGO and being involved at the Lone Pine Fire Department through the ladie's auxiliary. Gretchen's presence was impossible to ignore, and her absence will be just as deeply felt. She lived life on her own terms, loved without apology, and left an imprint on everyone lucky enough to know her. She will be dearly missed.
