Obituary

Guy L. "Mike" Zuver Jr. 70 of Burgettstown died Monday October 28 2024 in his home following a battle with cancer.  He was born in Washington on October 18, 1954, son of the late Guy L. Zuver Sr. and Maye E. Miller Zuver.  He was a 1973 graduate of McGuffey High School. After High School he went to work as a welder for General Ionics from which he retired in 1999.  Mike was a farmer.   After retirement he worked for Smith Hog Farm and  Storybook Stables.  He proudly served as a 4-H leader for Washington County for over 30 years, was swine superintendent at both Washington County and West Alexander Fairs.  Mike received an award from the West Alexander Fair for his numerous years of service.   He was also active in Avella FFA for his granddaughters and never missed a show for his children or grandchildren.  In his younger years he loved square dancing, enjoyed  vacationing with his brother Danny, and traveling the country with his daughter Megan in search of show animals.  He married Sherry Lynn Shrader on February 19, 1977 with whom he shared 44 years of marriage before her passing on December 12, 2021.  Surviving are children Megan (Chad) Ross of Burgettstown, Kelly Dadisman (Jason Rohm) of Aleppo, Staci (Michael) Steinlicht of Stan Hope, Iowa, Amy Roach of Houston Texas, siblings Christy (John) Ammons of MT Perry Oh, Danny (Debbie) Zuver of Avella, Debra (Bill) Grasser of Prosperity, Roger (Cheryl) Renard of West Unity, Oh, Pam Ingram of West middletown, sister-in-law Theresa (Cecil) Miller of West Alexander, 14 grandchidren Shaylyn Zuver, Rylei Ross, Kalley Ross, Cash Ross, Cierra Dadisman, Lyla Dadisman, Dakota Dadisman, Gia Dadisman, Abigail Rohm, Kenzi Rohm, Henley Rohm, Harley Steinlicht, Madisyn (Steinlicht) Zimmer, Jaxson Steinlicht, an aunt Betty Renard, numerous nieces and nephews including a few special nieces and nephews; Tiffany (Nate) Oest, BJ (Gretchen) Grasser, Whitney Renard, Aaron Renard, Heather (Dit) Long, Brandy (Steve) Lubozynski, Jimmy (Rachel) Ammons, and Justin Ammons. He also leaves to cherish his many "fair brats" who affectionately called him Dad or Pap.  Deceased are his wife Sherry L. Zuver, parents Guy Sr. and Maye E. Zuver, as well as a grandson Ace Ross. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2-8 P.M. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2024 at 11:00a.m.  A spaghetti dinner benefit is scheduled for Sunday November 3, 2024 from 12-5P.M in the West Middletown Fire Hall to help with expenses incurred for Mike.
