Helen Breese Ewart Involved with 4-H for several years Helen Breese Ewart 98 of Washington died Thursday February 13, 2014 in Breese's Personal Care Home, Claysville. She was born in Washington, PA on January 2, 1916, the daughter of the late Frank I and Eva Bell McAdams Breese. She was a 1933 graduate of Trinity High School, and former member of Liberty Methodist and North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Helen was a 25 year member of Buffalo Grange, holding office of Lecturer and Junior Matron, also a 4-H leader for several years. She enjoyed crafts of different kinds and also made many quilts. Surviving is a daughter Margery (Robert) McWhorter of South Carolina, a son Robert (Della) Ewart of North Carolina, and a daughter Kathryn (James) Barnes of Washington. Her grandchildren are Neil (Kelly) McWhorter of Florida, Kent (Dianna) McWhorter of South Carolina, Aaron Barnes of Washington, Amy (William) Haines of Prosperity, great granddaughter Eithne McWhorter of South Carolina. Deceased are her husband Robert C. Ewart, brother Clarence (Red) Breese, brother Ralph Breese, infant brother John and an infant grandson Todd McWhorter. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington where funeral services will be held on Friday February 21, 2014 at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Washington County 4-H Scholarship Fund c/o Penn State Cooperative Extension 100 West Beau Street, Suite 601 Washington, PA 15301.
