With profound love, deepest respect and admiration, the family of Helen Freeman acknowledges her passing Monday August 21, 2023. Her loving family was by her side.
She was born January 11, 1929 in Richeyville, Pa, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Helen Harris. She married her loving husband Robert Freeman on January 14, 1947. They were married for 39 years until his passing on January 14, 1986.
She lived her life simply as a shining example of kindness, strength, and generosity. Her legacy of life well-lived will forever be a part of her daughter, Helen (Allen) Proper, sons Robert (Barbara) Freeman and Mark (Bobbie) Freeman, four grandchildren Daniel (Amy) Freeman, Lynn (Brian) Painter, Chase Freeman, Savannah (Ben) Powell, and four great-grandchildren Vanessa, Kaylie, Justin, and soon to be Hazel.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers Van & Jim Harris and a sister, Vivian Majesky.
She was a member of Scenery Hill United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 24, from 5-8pm at Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where a funeral service will be held on Friday August 25 at 10:30am. Internment will follow at Scenery Hill Cemetery, Scenery Hill. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in her honor to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty-Four, Pa 15330.
