Jack Allen Whitmer, 74 of Amity died peacefully on  Sunday February 9, 2025 in his home.  He was born in Pittsburgh on March 28, 1950, son of the late Raymond E. and Vera Jean Holzhauser Whitmer.  He attended Washington High School and McGuffey High School from where he graduated in 1968.  Jack went on to work for Iron Workers Local #3, where he spent his entire working career until his retirement.  In addition to being a member of Iron Workers Local #3, he was a member of American Legion Post 744 of Marianna, the Moose of Waynesburg, Anawanna hunting and fishing club.  He loved golfing and going on golf trips with his buddies,  enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading the paper and doing yardwork, and just being outside.  Jack also was proud to support the Wounded Warriors.  On August 2, 2013 he married Gloria J. Schultz on August 2, 2013.   They spent 11 wonderful years of marriage together before her passing on September 8, 2024.  Jack is survived by son Jeffrey and wife Jennifer Whitmer, daughter Kim Whitmer, stepson David Martin (Julie) and Stepdaughter Melissa McKenna, grandchildren Jacob Whitmer, Kyle and wife MiraYin Whitmer, Josalyn Whitmer, and Ryeder Whitmer, great granddaughter Kinzley Brown, step grandchildren Alaina and Mason McKenna, four brothers Don (Linda) Whitmer, Dale (Sharon) Whitmer, Tom (Sally) Whitmer, Paul (Diane) Whitmer, as well as several nieces and nephews.   Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are a son Greg Whitmer, granddaughter Brianna Whitmer grandson Nicholas Whitmer, brother Jim and wife Linda Whitmer.    Family and friends will be received from 2:00P.M.-6:00P.M. on  Saturday February 15, 2025 in Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington where funeral services will be held at 6:00p.m.  An online guestbook may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com
