James "Larry" Headley 71 of Amwell Township died peacefully Tuesday March 18, 2025 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  He was born in Washington on June 20, 1953 son of the late James R. and Betty Louise Phillips Headley.  He attended Amity school and was a 1971 graduate of Trinity High School.  He then attended Penn State University studying Agriculture.  He retired from the Amwell Township Road Crew.  He was a lifetime member of Lone Pine Volunteer Fire Dept., member of the Amwell Township Historical Society, and he helped with Amity Youth Baseball and Lone Pine Softball. He served as a Trinity School Board member.  He enjoyed being active in his community. He took pride in maintaining his property,  liked classic cars and trucks, attending antique auctions, and flea markets.   He loved all family functions, and got so much joy from watching his Grandchildren play sports.  On June 23, 1973 he married Karen (Wayman) Headley with whom he has shared 51 years of marriage.   Surviving in addition to his wife are son Christopher (Julia) Headley, daughter Sarah (Christopher) Bayardi, three grandsons Matthew Headley, John Bayardi, C.J. Bayardi,  sister Rebecca (James P.) Herron, sister-in-laws Debbie (Richard) Christy, Gail (Robert) Misurda, as well as several nieces and nephews.   Family and friends will be received Friday from 1-8 P.M. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, where funeral services will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025 at 11:00a.m. A firefighter's service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. by Lone Pine Volunteer Fire Department.   Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.  An online guestbook may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lone Pine Volunteer Fire Department 330 Weaver Run Rd.
