James Irey

James A. Irey, 89, of Washington died Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Premier Washington Health Center. He was born September 14, 1936 in Washington to the late Arthur C. and Mary V. Gibson Irey. James was a 1954 graduate of Trinity High School and went on to work for Columbia Gas from May 5, 1955 to his retirement in 1997. He was a member of Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, Amity, PA and a former member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. James enjoyed hunting and going to breakfast with his fellow retired coworkers and friends. He played softball with Ten Mile Valley in his younger years.

On October 5, 1956, James married Shirley Johnson Irey. They shared 20 years together before her passing on November 29, 1976. In June of 1986 James married Cassie Graham Irey who passed away in August 2015.

James is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Mark) Booher and Janet Irey, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
