James Emery Baker Redd 94 of Washington died Sunday August 21 2011 in Kade Nursing Home Washington. He was born March 14, 1917 in Washington a son of the late Nehemiah Baker and Martha Jane McCoy Redd. He attended Trinity schools. Mr. Redd was a farmer and also worked for Trinity School District for over 20 years as a custodian until his retirement in 1985. He was a longtime member of Grace Brethren Church. He was on the Washington County Republican party Committee, was Amwell Township Auditor for 30 years and then a zoning officer for Amwell for 10 years. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Masons 32nd Degree. He loved to Hunt and was also a gunsmith. On August 29, 1942 he married Marguerite Mae Wick Redd who died December 9, 2004. He is survived by 3 children Susan Louise Redd Miles (Rich Miles), Vaughn Marie Redd Walters (Doug Rubis), Rea Andrew Redd (Ann Rodgers Redd), sister Martha Jane Redd bell, brother John Henry Redd, 11 grandchildren Rhonda Sue Barner (Ken), Traci Lynne Opel (Dan), Dawn Michele Warne (Jim), Darla Marie Uniejewski (Ed), Aaron Harley (Missy) Walters, Adam Nathan Walters, Emory Lincoln Redd (Rainey), Marguerite Jean Redd (Adam Lazowska), James Alexander Redd (Amy), Lea Maureen Redd, Genevieve Grace Redd , 9 great grandchildren, previous daughter in law Beverly Ann Curtis, as well as many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are a daughter Elysabeth Jane Redd, son James Baker Redd, 3 sisters Marion Redd, Margaret Redd, and Sarah McCullough. Friends will be received Tuesday from2 -4 and 6-8p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral home 1873 East maiden Street Washington, PA 15301 where funeral services will be held on Thursday August 25, 2011 at 10:00a.m. with Associate pastor Ken Barner of Library Baptist Church Finleyville officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
