James A"Pappy". Shingle 94 of Amity died Thursday May 5 2011 in his home. He was born March 31, 1917 in Martins Ferry Ohio a son of John and Ann Hantis Shingle. He was a driver for Nickles Bakery in Martins Ferry and Washington PA for many years until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Shingle was a member of Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church in Amity. He loved playing cards, reading the paper, watching football especially the Steelers and Green Bay Packers, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his 3 daughters Sandra (Earle) Teagarden, Bonnie (Charles) Hines, Linda Shingle, a son Kenneth (Dink) Shingle, daughter in law Betty Shingel, 3 brothers George, Harry , Eugene Shingle, 2 sisters Sylvia Otto and Eileen Walters, 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren as well as several godchildren. Deceased in a addition to his parents are 2 wives Catherine M. Oberdick, Mary E. Shingle, 2 sons James D. Shingle, Edward W. Shingle, 2 brothers John Shingle, Emil Shingle, sisters Beth Randozzo, Ann Tartler, Virginia Shingle, 2 twin grandsons Kevin Allen and Kalvin Allen. Friends will be received in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. on Saturday may 7, 2011 Funeral Services wil be held on Sunday may 8 2011 at 1:00p.m. in Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, Amity with Pastor Dick Berrdinelli officiating. Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation be made to Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church P.O.
