Janice M. Hart Ross, 75, of Washington, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 1, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of the late Roy C. and Lenore K. "Betty" Elliott Hart. Mrs. Ross had attended Mt. Lookout Elementary School and was a 1956 graduate of Trinity High School. She was employed as a secretary for several years at Washington Hospital, before retiring in 1967. She later worked at Eighty Four Lumber Co., as a filing clerk, for a few years. Mrs. Ross was a lifelong member of Bethlehem-Lutheran Evangelical Church in Glyde, where she served on the nominating committee and sang in the choir. She enjoyed helping in the church kitchen and various functions. Surviving are two brothers, Roy E. (Judi) Hart of Richeyville and Donald W. Hart of Cokeburg and several nieces and nephews. Her husband of 45 years, Daniel G. Ross Jr., died April 6, 2006. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Wednesday, January 2, in Bethlehem-Lutheran Evangelical Church, with Pastor Peter Asplin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Bethelehm-Luther Evangelical Church Building Fund, Church Road, Scenery Hill, PA 15360, or Washington Hospital Hospice.
