Jean M. Hartley 88 of Amity died Tuesday February 1 2011 in the Washington County Health Center. She was born in Amity on December 10, 1922 a daughter of the late Thomas L. and Gayle Walker Mankey. She was a 1941 graduate of Trinity High School. On June 23 1944 she married Lloyd Richard Hartley who is deceased. Mrs. Hartley was a member of Amity United Methodist Church where she was a delegate to the District Conference. She is survived by 3 children William and wife Linda Hartley of Amity, Nancy H. and husband Bob Norville of New Jersey, and Samuel A. and wife Eva Hartley of Oak Harbor Washington , 2 sisters Caroline Beddow of Amity, Joan (Norman) Howenstein of Pittsburgh, a brother-in-law Robert Frazier of Washington, 9 granchildren Scott and Jason Hartley, Audra and Allister Norville, Megan and Bridget Hartley, Rachel, Dea, and Kayla Spinneweber, and 5 great grandchildren Azlyn, Matthew, Jason, Jenna, and Taya. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a son Thomas L. Hartley, a daughter Gayle Hartley, sister Louise Frazier, brother-in-law Clarence Beddow, grandson Shawn Hartley, and infant grandchild. Family and friends will be received from 2-9p.m Friday in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, PA 15301 where funeral services will be held on Saturday February 5, 2011 with Pastor Lois Swestyn officiating. Interment will follow in Amity Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
