Joan Marie Elliott, 74, of Amity passed away September 29, 2011. She was born October 20, 1936, in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of the late Robert H., Sr. and Joan N. (Prentice) Hall. She was a 1954 graduate of Weir High School, Weirton, WV. On March 16, 1974, she married Kenneth E. Elliott, who survives. Mrs. Elliott was employed by the Weirton Chamber of Commerce and later worked for Hills Department Store in Washington and the Observer Publishing Company. Mrs. Elliott was also a member of Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed her dogs and knitting and was known for her traditional Scotch shortbread. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Kenneth B. Elliott of Washington, PA, and William L. (Melissa) Elliott of Plum, PA; a brother, Robert H. Hall, Jr. of Weirton, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Mary Alice Dayoub. All services will be private.
