Obituary

Lucinda J. (Cindy) Tambourine, age 60, of Stevensville, MD died March 8, 2015 at her home. She was born on June 6, 1954 in Washington, PA, the daughter of the late Shirley Margaret Harris Tambourine and Benjamin Richard Tambourine. She graduated from Bethlehem Center High School in 1972 where she performed in the band and acted as Mistress of Ceremonies at her commencement. She received a certificate of Cosmetology from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in 1973. Cindy received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1981 and her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business in 1982. She began her professional business career with Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh in 1983 before transferring to NYC. She moved to Citibank in NYC where she earned her Certified Financial Planner Certification. She spent over 20 years there, working primarily in the Private Bank, Law Firm Group, where she reached the level of Managing Director and was recognized as an expert in law firm banking practices. During a brief period of contemplating retirement, she was Chief Financial Officer for Covington Burling Law Firm in Washington, DC in 2001, before returning to Citibank and finishing her career in 2012. In recent years she was mother to a rambunctious Australian Shepherd named Marcie. Cindy was incredibly happy with the community of people she came to call her friends there and was very proud of the ribbons she earned with Marcie in Obedience and Rally Advanced and Expert. Cindy was an avid reader of mystery and crime fiction. For a brief time she conducted and wrote author interviews for Mystery News Newspaper. Cindy loved Broadway and American popular standards music, reading mystery fiction, casino slots and traveling. She and her husband, David, fulfilled their goal of visiting all fifty states in 2010 by visiting Idaho. Cindy is survived by her husband Dave Magayna, whom she married on August 29, 1998; brother Richard Lee Tambourine of Nokimis, FL; sister Rebecca A. Shuster (David) of Bethel Park, PA; brother JP Harris Tambourine (Kathleen) of State College, PA; nieces Sheri A. Tambourine; Niccole Tambourine; Melissa Wilson (Scott); Danielle Shuster; Staci Tambourine; Lynn Piatt; Lisa Bailey; Jennifer Bienarauskas; nephews Matthew Tambourine (Yana); Gino Tambourine; Mark Bailey; Brian Bienarauskas; Kevin Brown; and great nephew Maximus. Family and friends will be received on Saturday March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday March 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street Marianna, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday March 16, 2015. Interment will follow in the Horn Cemetery Marianna, PA.
