Obituary

Lucy Mae Elliott 83 of Amity passed away Tuesday May 29, 2018 in Presbyterian Senior Care Washington. The daughter of the late Lester Earl and Sarah Frances Hatfield Elliott, Lucy was born October 3, 1934 in her patents home on their farm in Amwell township.  She was a 1953 graduate of Trinity High School.  After graduation she worked at Atlas glass and hazel #2 Glass house in Washington.  She later cleaned houses in the area.  Her life was devoted to the family's farm, raising sheep, goats, and gardening. She enjoyed growing African violets.   She was a strong woman of faith and read her Bible every day.  Lucy attended Amity United Methodist Church, the Washington Wesleyan Church, Faith Baptist Church (Waynesburg) and most recently Calvary United Methodist Church (Pittsburgh). She loved to put jigsaw puzzles together, often giving family and friends completed puzzles. She was lovingly cared for by her friends and staff at Hillsview Personal Care Home in Claysville, Presbyterian Senior Care Southmont in Washington, and Concordia Hospice.   Surviving are her brother John (Genell) Elliott; nieces Robin Elliott, Marci (Bill) Love, Krystal (Scott) Moore, great niece Bethany Moore, and nephews Kenny (Brian Burns) Elliott and Willy (Melissa) Elliott.  She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth and sister –in –law Joan Elliott.

Family and friends will  be received Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East maiden Street Washington, PA where funeral services will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Homitsky officiating. Interment will follow in Amity Methodist Church Cemetery.  An online guestbook may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com
