Avid bingo Player, Nurses Aide Martha J. McMurray Iddings 87 of Marianna died Wednesday October 5, 2011 in the Donnell House Washington. She was born in West Virginia on November 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Robert and Alice Thomas McMurray. She attended Marianna Boro schools and was a member of Marianna United Methodist Church. Martha worked at Caldwells and Langs in Downtown Washington, and then as a Nurses Aide at the Washington Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of Marianna United Methodist church, American legion Post 744 Auxiliary, was an avid Bingo player, loved to watch the Pirates, read and play cards, especially at the Marianna Library. She shared a wonderful life with her husband Wilbur Joseph Iddings who died in 1988. Surviving are 4 daughters Alice Ann (Donald) Kuhns of Colorado Springs,CO, Patricia Marie Webb of Washington, Darlene Kay (John) Stauffer) of Marianna, Susan B. (Jim) Barker of Marianna, a son Wilbur Joseph (Monica) Iddings Jr. of Wetzlar, Germany, a brother Robert McMurray of Colorado, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews and her loving Boston terrier Mollie. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a sister Dorothy Reese, 2 brothers John McMurray, Victor McMurray, and a son-in-law William E. Webb. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Friday in the Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street Marianna, Pa 15345 where funeral services will be held on Saturday October 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Sweany officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hospice Care of Washington, or the Marianna Public Library.
