Martha M. Munce "Lifelong interest in learning and teaching, enjoyed spending time with family" Martha M. Munce 102 of Washington formerly of Strabane Trails, died Monday July 11, 2011 in Standish Assisted Living, Amwell Township. She was born in McMurray on June 12, 1909 a daughter of the late William J. and Sarah Caldwell McMurray. She graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington and then went on to teach for 40 years in the canon McMillan School District at Weavertown Hill, Cecil, Wylandville, and Alexander schools. Ms. Munce was a longtime member of Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four where she was part of the women's prayer group, and missionary society. She enjoyed teaching, spending time with family and friends, drawing, walking, keeping fit and healthy as well as always had an interest in learning and teaching. In August 1943 she married T. Hultz Munce who is deceased. She is survived by a daughter Jane (Roger) Boak of Houston, Texas, nieces Elizabeth Jean "BJ" (James) Hausman, Ruth(Cliff) Smith ***Cliff is deceased not sure how to fit him in**** nephews Harold McNary and William J.(Carol) Caseber, as well as great nieces and nephews Bill Pen, Meg(James) Gagnon, Will (Andrea) Caseber, Wesley Caseber, Bruce(Audie) Smith, Hultz(Barbara) Smith, Jim Smith, Terri Reimer, Judy Klinski, Ronald McNary, Janeen McNary, as well as cousins Roy and Charlotte Munce and family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are 2 sisters Elizabeth (Charles) McNary, Emily (Bud) Caseber, sister in law Jennie Mackey, nieces Betty Lou (Horace) Penn and Katherine (Chuck) Reimer. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral home 1873 East maiden Street Washington, PA 1531 where funeral services will be held on Friday July 15 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington cemetery.
