Mary Jane Reese Carson 77 of Washington died Monday June 4, 2012 in her home. She was born November 17, 1934 in Amity a daughter of the late Norton E. and Nancy Ann Waychoff Reese. She was a 1952 graduate of Trinity High School. She was a member of North ten Mile Baptist church since 1946 where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 33 years, treasurer, in the choir, tower editor and Silver Star Mission circle. She was also a counselor and Board member for camp Carmel. She volunteered for cub scouts, and Boy Scouts of America. Loved crocheting, bird watching, spending time with her children and grandchildren and was an avid reader. On November 24, 1955 she married Donald L. Carson with whom she shared 52 years of marriage until his passing on October 21, 2007. She is survived by two sons John M. (Sandra F.) Carson of Scenery Hill, Matthew D. (Christine M.) Carson of Belle Vernon, daughter Nancy M. (Robert C. III) Secord of Dillsburg, a brother John B. (Patricia) Reese of Benezette, 4 sisters Wilma A. Demetris of Inverniss, Fl, Ruth E. (Clifford) Tustin of Washington, Lenora M. (Joseph) Traficanti of Inverniss, Fl, Patricia M. Reese of Birmingham, Alabama, a sister-in-law Grace Ulery of Claysville, grandchildren Lauren M., Elizabeth H., Madeline M., Zachary M., Mary T., Jane M, Ann K. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a grandson Benjamin L. Carson, 2 brothers Ralph "Bud" Reese, Mike Reese, and 2 sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Acklin and Doris J. Reese. Family and friends will be received in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, PA 15301 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday June 7, 2012. Additional visitation will be held at North ten Mile Baptist Church Amity, PA 15311 on Friday June 8, 2012 from 10-11a.m.the time of service with Rev. Dr. Gary Schneider officiating.
