Mary Etta Mowl 93 of Washington went home to be with Jesus on August 30, 2024 in her home with her family by her side. She was born April 22, 1931 in Somerset PA, daughter of the late Frank and Margie Tipton. Mary Etta was a graduate of Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Pittsburgh, PA. On June 20, 1953 she married the love of her life Donald Mowl. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church for the Deaf, where she served as a choir leader. She was a member of Great Lakes Regional Conference and a member of the Deaf Senior Citizens Club. She also belonged to the International Lutheran Deaf Association. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Granny, and Great Grandmother. Mary leaves behind her daughter Nancy Britt(Dennis), 5 grandchildren; Christ Britt, Valerie Schrader, Ken (Jessica) Britt, William "BJ" Britt, Vaughn (Shannon) Simonelli, 8 great grandchildren; Benjamin, Isabella, Zachary Schrader, Julianna, Felicity, Laura, and Carolina Britt, Elenor "Ellie Mae" Simonelli, as well as a special sister-in-law Betty Lawson, several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her Husband, Donald of 62 years in 2016, a son Marty, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. The family would like to thank the wonderful care she received from the staff at Gateway Hospice and Caring Mission. Friends and family are welcome on Saturday September 7 2024 in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington from 11:00a.m.-2:00p.m. the time of funeral service.
