Obituary

Maxine Mae Briggs Barker 85 Of Eighty Four died Wednesday January 30, 2013 in Country Meadows of South Hills, Bridgeville. She was born September 26, 1927 in Lone Pine, a daughter of Ray and Mary Crile Briggs. She was a member of Memory Chapel on Vanceville Rd in Eighty Four. Maxine enjoyed refinishing furniture, gardening, canning, helping others, and spending time with her family. On July 7, 1946 she married Lawrence H. Barker who died January 19, 1988. She is survived by two sons Anthony "Tony" Barker of Eighty Four, Harry L. (Jody) Barker, of Eighty Four, three grandchildren Joshua (Danielle) Barker, Aimee Barker, Daniel Barker, four great grandchildren Noah Barker, Avery Barker, Chloe Micelli, and Azekiel Barker, two brothers Lawrence (Becky) Briggs of Ten Mile, and Ivan "Ike" Briggs of Washington, as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are three sisters Lois Henderson, Mary Louise Reed, Laura Jean Lyle, two brothers Milo Briggs, Ray Briggs Jr., an infant brother Donald Briggs, an infant sister Gwendolia Briggs, and two half brothers Lester and Harold Garrett. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 6-8p.m. and Friday from -4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington where funeral services will be held on Saturday February 2, 2013 at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Dr. Gary Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Pine Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Memory Community Chapel 761 Vanceville Rd, Eighty Four, PA 15331.
