Nora Irene Edgar, 84 of Washington, passed away on Monday June 3, 2024 in UPMC Washington Hospital.   She was born in Washington on February 6, 1940, daughter of the late Clarence L. and Florence Thomas Jenkins. She attended Trinity High School.  On June 7, 1957 she married the love of her life William R. Edgar who passed away on March 4, 1998 after 40 years of marriage. Nora was a hard worker and was always working on home improvement projects over the years.  She also took great pride in the fact that she helped build their family home from the ground up.  She enjoyed playing BINGO, puzzles, going to the casinos, planting flowers, and spending time with family.  Nora was adored by her family and always spent holidays with a full house of children and grandchildren.  She was a volunteer at Washington Senior Center until her health difficulties.

Nora is survived by five children Clementine and husband Larry Mayne, Susan and late husband James Zawacki, Haddie Christine and husband Charles Weaver, William R. and wife Davi Ranae Edgar Jr., Katherine and husband Jason Mituzas, eight grandchildren Jamie (Rudolph) Yurkovich, James (Brenda) Zawacki, Charles Weaver III, Nicholas (Allison) Weaver, Brandon (Nicole) Weaver, William Edgar III, Luke Edgar, Faith Edgar, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are five brothers Donald, Clarence, Glenn, James, and Merle Jenkins and three half brothers Paul, Charlie, and George Spease.

Family and friends will be received Friday June 7, 2024 from 1:00p.m.-3:00p.m. and 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 7:00p.m.   A private interment will be held at Lone Pine Cemetery.
